With Violinist and Violin Teacher Tony Navarro

Santa Barbara native Tony Navarro has studied the violin for over 25 years.  During that time, he has earned a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from the University of California Santa Barbara under Professor Ertan Torgul, where he also earned undergraduate degrees in Music under Professor Yuval Taron as well as English.  During his time at UCSB he served as the Concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra and additionally was a member of the prestigious Young Artists String Quartet.  While he was a Graduate Student he was also the Teaching Assistant for the Chamber Orchestra Course under Professor Maxim Kuzin.  Tony has performed all over the country and has vast experience performing Orchestral and Chamber Music as well as solo repertoire.  As a professional he is currently the Principal Second Violin of Symphony of the Vines in Paso Robles where he is also a member the SOV String Quartet. He also performs in the first violin sections of Opera San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria Philharmonic, SLO Master Chorale and the Lompoc Pops Orchestra in addition to numerous solo and chamber performances along the central and south coast. 

Tony also has extensive teaching experience, teaching both privately and in public programs like the Santa Barbara Symphony Strings Workshop and SB Music Van for more than fifteen years.  Whether you are a beginner starting your musical journey or already an advanced player, Tony has the skills and experience to help you achieve all of your goals.  He welcomes all students warmly while providing the discipline and structure necessary to learn to play an instrument as difficult as the violin.  If you would like to set up a lesson time, please do so using the information in the link at the top of the page.
